As part of its convening role for civil society, CIVICUS facilitates the functioning of several networks.  Primary
amongst these are the Affinity Group of National Associations (AGNA) [

representatives of national associations from different countries around the world to share experiences and
activities of the year, and collaborate on common challenges. The main activities of the AGNA network in
2010 include:

•  An annual general meeting that provided an opportunity for 30 AGNA members to meet face to face to
exchange experiences and best practices and to raise the profile and legitimacy of National Associations.

•  A meeting of the AGNA Asia regional group to discuss issues of legitimacy, transparency and accounta-
bility of National Associations and civil society organisations in Asia, the challenges faced by the sector in
   the region and possible solutions.

•  A peer learning exchange between the Pakistan NGO Forum and the Mauritius Council for Social Services.

At the 2010 AGNA annual general meeting, a new steering committee was elected to guide the organisation
over the year ahead.
