CIVICUS co-organised a workshop with AVINA, Construyendo Puentes, CAN Latin America, and Latin American Climate Platform at COP17 called “Latin America on the Road to Rio: Opportunities and Challenges”.

CIVICUS co-organised a side event at the 2nd UNCSD Intersessional meeting in New York, along with UN NGLS, UNEP, Stakeholder Forum, Vitae Civilis, Social Watch, and Citizens Network for Sustainable Development, entitled “Civil Society Engagement in Sustainable Development Governance”.  The Summary is available here.

November 2011

CIVICUS submission to Rio+20 outcome document entitled “CIVICUS Civil Society Engagement Recommendations for Rio+20”.

CIVICUS participated in the initial discussions on the zero draft document in New York.

October 2011

CIVICUS participated in the “International Seminar on Methodology of the Thematic Social Forum: Capitalist Crisis, Social and Environmental Justice Towards People’s Summit of Rio+20”  The meeting was organized by the Brazilian Civil Society Facilitating Committee gathering a number of international civil society networks in Porto Alegre.
