An Assessment of Civil Society in Cyprus: a map for the future The Civil Society Index Report for Cyprus was produced by the CIVICUS CSI and its partners in Cyprus. Due to the de facto division of the island, since 1974, the project was conducted separately in the northern and southern parts of Cyprus. In the northern part the Management Centre for the Mediterranean (MC-Med) took the lead in implementing the project, while in the southern part the project was implemented by Inter college.

Although two reports were produced, assessing the state of civil society in both the northern and southern parts of the island, the implementing organizations agreed to publish the reports in one document as a symbolic gesture of their commitment to a common future and a common polity for Cyprus.
