ICSW In the News

UNITED NATIONS, Nov 30 2017 (IPS) - The 57 small island developing states (SIDS), including 20 described as territories which are non-UN members, are some of the world’s most vulnerable – both economically and environmentally.

UNITED NATIONS, Dec 1 2017 (IPS) - Out of 300 nominations from across the globe, just four have won an innovation award for their commitment to human rights.

The future of civil societies and non-government organisations looks very positive. More than half of the 800 delegates at the International Civil Society Week (ICSW) are under 35 years of age, says regional civil society leader Sarah Thomas-Nededog.

This year, CIVICUS International Civil Society Week will take place in Fiji, and will allow civil society delegates from around the world to explore the frontlines in the global fight against climate change.

Fiji for the first time has won the bid to host the International Civil Society meeting in Suva at the end of the year.
